The estate
The Château de Leignon, located in the heart of the province of Namur, boasts a rich and fascinating history. Entirely rebuilt between 1895 and 1900 by the Ghent-based architect, Auguste Van Assche, the château is in the Flemish Neo-Gothic style.
With rooms each devoted to a decorative style, the château notably includes a flamboyant Gothic style dining room, an Art Nouveau library in mahogany, and a private chapel and living room in the style of Henry II. The main staircase as well as the landing on the first floor features painted canvases depicting the travels of Isidore Eggermont, the man to whom the château and its estate belonged.
As Château de Leignon is a private estate, it is not open to visitors all year round.
Exceptionally, guided tours of the château are organized on Heritage Days.
